Top 5 Summer Festivals 2014
Summer and sun evoke another all time favourite word…no, not ice cream guys, but music! :O) Warm and sunny weather are the perfect combination to enjoy a concert or even better an open-air festival. Here are our top 5 summer festivals 2014.
Since they all differ on the music style, location and type of festival we don’t feel like ranking them. No matter the style, music will always be good when it comes from the heart and we also guessed that everybody has a favourite!
- Rock am Ring, 05 Jun – 08 Jun.
Good old rock! This festival combines the latest trends in rock music with some living legends. From Metallica to Linkin Park, get ready for 4 days of incredible concerts and fantastic atmosphere. Live since 1985, this is the most famous open-air festival in Germany for the high quality of its music and stunning location: the F1 circuit of Nürburgring.

- Tomorrowland, 18 Jul – 20 Jul and 25 Jul – 27 Jul.
Taking place in Boom, a small town situated in Belgium, you can find the gigantic Tomorrowland: an electronic music festival with plenty of special effects.Young crowds gather here every year to listen to the latest from electro-music in dreamy, colourful surroundings. They have even built their own „village“. Dreamville is the official camping ground that offers plenty of services you may need after spending a day of craziness in Tomorrowland.

- Sónar, 12 Jun-14 Jun.
Summer and music couldn’t mix better. Sónar is probably the favourite in Spain. This Barcelona event combines some of the coolest progressive music with media arts, making this festival quite unique.Who is attending? In 2014 Massive Attack and Richie Hawtin (just to mention a couple of names) will be present to make your experience in Barcelona even more unforgettable.

- Rototom Sunsplash, 16 Aug – 23 Aug.
We are not ready to leave Spain yet! Held in Benicàssim, close to Valencia, Rototom Sunsplash Festival or simply Sunsplash is the mecca of reggae music in Europe. Last year this event reached its attendees’s record, an incredible 240.000 visitors over the festival’s duration.Again an original format for this great event: music is combined with cultural, educational and social activities.Giving space to classic reggae roots, dance hall, dub and ska, the organisers want to show how they keep track of the evolution of reggae.For more info please check: http://www.rototomsunsplash.com/en/

Nominated „Best Major European Festival“ by the EU Festival Awards, this is a must-see.Held in a breathtaking venue, the Petrovaradin Fortress of Novi Sad in Serbia, this amazing festival has noble social roots: music was used by a student movement to deliver a message of freedom and peace in Serbia starting in 2000.Asian Dub Foundation, Andy C and many more are ready to show you what music can do.
